A coffee, a biscuit and an honest chat about mental health at work
Join us for a relaxed, free session at our training centre in Glasgow, either in the morning or after work. Bring a colleague, have a coffee, and leave with a clearer picture of what the law expects of employers, the things most organisations never think about, and simple steps you can take straight away. There is no sales pitch.

Most people want to help a struggling colleague. Few know where to start.
Poor mental health costs UK employers an estimated £51 billion a year, and the biggest part of that is not people being off. It is people coming to work while they are struggling. Stress, depression and anxiety are now the single biggest cause of working days lost to work related ill health.
Too often the first conversation an employer has about mental health happens after someone is already off. These two hours are a chance to think about it earlier, over a coffee, with no pressure. You will leave knowing where your organisation stands and what is worth doing next. If that turns out to be training with us, great. If you decide you can take it from here, that is fine too.
Practical things you can take back to work the same afternoon.

What the law actually asks of you
Your duty of care, why work related stress belongs in your risk assessment, and how the Equality Act can apply to mental health even without a diagnosis. Explained plainly, without the jargon.

The things most organisations miss
Whether staff actually know how to use your Employee Assistance Programme. What happens when someone comes back after time off. Who looks after the person everyone else talks to. Small gaps that make a big difference.

What to do when someone is struggling
How to notice the early signs, how to start the conversation without it feeling awkward, and where your role ends. We will use our REACH OUT approach, the same one we teach on our courses.
Simple, relaxed and no pressure.

Come along
The kettle will be on. We will confirm everything by email and send you directions.
This is not a sales pitch. It is two hours of honest, practical conversation about looking after people at work.
Ask whatever you like, take what is useful, and leave the rest. We will happily tell you about what we do if you ask, but nobody will follow you out the door.

Your questions, answered.
Is it really free?
Yes. Each organisation can send up to two people at no cost and with no obligation. We only ask that you let us know if you can no longer come, so someone else can have the place.
Who is it for?
Anyone who has a hand in looking after people at work: business owners, managers, HR and operations staff, and team leaders. Any sector and any size of organisation.
Where is it held?
At our training centre at Orchard Park, 10 Gardenside Avenue, Carmyle, Glasgow G32 8DR. We will send directions when we confirm your place.
Will we be sold to?
No. If you want to know more about our training we are happy to talk, but there is no pitch on the day and no follow up calls unless you ask for one.
Is this a qualification?
No. It is an informal awareness session. If you decide afterwards that your team would benefit from more, our accredited courses build on what we cover here.
Can we send more than two people?
Each session has 12 places and we keep it to two per organisation, so it stays relaxed and everyone can ask questions. If you would like something similar for your whole team, get in touch and we can talk about running it at your workplace.
Pick a morning or an evening.
Each session runs for two hours at Orchard Park in Glasgow, with 12 places so the group stays small and relaxed.
Can't make any of these? Email hello@piece-of-mind.co.uk and we will let you know when the next dates are. Can't get to Glasgow? Join the same session online on Zoom.
We would love to see you.
Tell us who is coming and which date suits you. We will be in touch within a couple of working days to confirm your places.
