Full bio

Andy Griffiths is a psychotherapist and clinical hypnotherapist based in Glasgow, and the founder of Piece of Mind. He has worked with clients for nearly a decade and is in the therapy room every day, working mainly with anxiety, trauma and depression, as well as panic, phobias, fear of flying and stopping smoking. He spends much of the rest of his week inside large organisations, working with them on staff wellbeing and training their teams in mental health first aid, on programmes accredited at SCQF Levels 4 to 6. Andy also trains new hypnotherapists, co-hosts the Tickety Boo podcast, and sees himself as a working therapist first and an ambassador for mental health second. He is registered with the GHR, GHSC, CNHC and ACCPH.

Andy’s own story

Andy came to this work through his own experience.

After a serious health scare around 25 years ago, he lived for years with anxiety and panic attacks, including a long haul flight he was convinced he would not survive. Hypnotherapy was what finally helped him, and it led him to train as a therapist. He speaks openly about this, which makes him a good fit for stories about lived experience, health anxiety and fear of flying.
