Train to become a hypnotherapist.
And actually feel ready to work with people.
Practical, accredited hypnotherapy training in Birmingham. Learn face to face with your Birmingham trainer while connecting live with our main training centre in Glasgow. You’ll learn by doing, practise throughout the course and build the skills and confidence to know what to do when a real client sits in front of you.

Hypnotherapy Training in Birmingham
Choosing the right hypnotherapy course is a big decision. You’re not just choosing a qualification. You’re choosing who teaches you, how much practical experience you get and, ultimately, whether you leave feeling ready to actually work with people. Our Birmingham hypnotherapy training gives you the benefits of learning in a real classroom without being limited to one trainer or one location.
You’ll attend the course in person in Birmingham with Ian, your local Piece of Mind trainer. At the same time, the Birmingham classroom connects live with Andy Griffiths, the founder of Piece of Mind, at our main training centre in Glasgow. Both classrooms become part of the same live training experience.
You’ll see demonstrations, join discussions, ask questions and learn alongside students at both locations. Most importantly, you’ll still be in a physical classroom practising with other students and supported by a trainer who is there with you.
This isn’t sitting at home watching a course through a screen.
It’s live, practical classroom training connected across two Piece of Mind training locations. Two classrooms. One live course.
Training Designed for the Real Therapy Room
Learning hypnotherapy is about much more than learning how to put somebody into trance. You need to understand the person sitting in front of you.
What is keeping their problem going?
What happens when the session doesn’t go exactly as you expected?
What do you do when somebody presents with anxiety, fear, habits, difficult emotions or beliefs they have carried for years?
That’s why our training goes beyond scripts. Over thousands of hours working with clients, Andy and his team have developed what we call the Piece of Mind Method. It brings together hypnotherapy with psychotherapy techniques, neuroscience, coaching and other practical approaches to change.
You’ll learn the principles behind this approach and, more importantly, how to start applying them yourself.
The aim isn’t simply to help you pass a course.
It’s to help you become a therapist.

Train in Birmingham. Connect Live With Glasgow.
Your training takes place in person in Birmingham. Ian Young, from Piece of Mind Birmingham, will be there in the classroom throughout the course to teach, guide your practical work, answer questions and support you as your skills develop.
The classroom also connects live with Andy and the Piece of Mind training team at our main Glasgow training centre. Teaching, demonstrations, discussions and questions can move between both classrooms throughout the training weekend.
So you get something quite different. You have a trainer physically in the room with you. You have other students to practise with. And you become part of the wider Piece of Mind classroom and teaching team.
Two classrooms. One live course.
Choose Your Training Path
Our hypnotherapy training follows one continuous pathway. You can enrol directly onto the full 9 Month Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy and Coaching. Or, if nine months feels like too big a commitment right now, start with the 4 Month Foundation Diploma.
You’ll begin alongside the Diploma students and complete the same first four modules. At the end of the Foundation you can finish with your qualification or continue your training towards the full Diploma.
Foundation Diploma
Four months of practical hypnotherapy and coaching training designed to give you a strong foundation.
This may suit you if you want to:
- Explore hypnotherapy before committing to the full Diploma
- Begin developing skills to work with more straightforward client issues
- Add coaching and communication skills to your existing work
- Explore a possible new career
- Learn more about yourself and how people create change
You’ll also gain a recognised coaching qualification alongside your hypnotherapy training.
Full Diploma
Our 9 Month Diploma takes your training much further.
It’s designed for people who want to become professionally qualified hypnotherapists and develop the confidence to work with a wider range of clients and presenting issues.
You’ll build on everything covered during the Foundation before moving into more advanced therapeutic work.
This includes areas such as anxiety, phobias, habits, emotional difficulties, regression, NLP and working with more complex client presentations. By the end of your training, the goal is simple.
You don’t just want a certificate saying you’ve studied hypnotherapy.
You want to feel capable of using it.
Fully Accredited Hypnotherapy Training
Your qualification matters. Our training is externally accredited and designed to give you a recognised route into professional hypnotherapy practice.
Accreditations and professional recognition include:
- General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC)
- Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC)
- The Hypnotherapy Association
- Association for Coaching & Counselling Professionals (ACCPH)
Your training is designed to provide the professional standards, practical experience and knowledge required to begin building your career as a hypnotherapist.

What Makes Piece of Mind Training Different?
There are plenty of places where you can learn hypnotherapy. We want you to learn how to use it.

Practical from the beginning
You’ll practise throughout your training rather than spending months simply listening to theory.

More than hypnotherapy
You’ll begin learning the Piece of Mind Method, bringing together hypnotherapy, psychotherapy techniques, neuroscience, coaching and practical change work.

Connected Birmingham classroom
Train face to face in Birmingham while being connected live with our main training centre and teaching team in Glasgow.
Learn from working therapists
The people teaching you actually work with clients. That means we can teach you what happens in real sessions, including the bits that don't always appear in textbooks.

Support between training weekends
Your learning continues outside the classroom through our online student platform, additional resources and ongoing support.

Support after you qualify
Finishing the Diploma doesn't mean we suddenly disappear. There are opportunities for continued supervision, development and ongoing training as your practice grows.
What Will You Learn?
Your training will help you understand how to:
- Use hypnosis confidently and safely
- Structure effective hypnotherapy sessions
- Understand why problems and patterns can become stuck
- Work with beliefs, emotions and behaviour
- Use therapeutic language effectively
- Integrate coaching and NLP techniques
- Work ethically with clients
- Adapt what you're doing when a client needs something different
- Build confidence through repeated practical experience
- Begin developing your own style as a therapist
- Take the first steps towards building a professional practice
You won’t be expected to arrive knowing any of this.
That’s what the training is for.
You Don't Need Previous Experience
Our students come from all sorts of backgrounds.
Continue to Full Diploma
Some already work in healthcare, coaching, counselling or wellbeing.
Others have careers completely unrelated to therapy.
Some know they want to become hypnotherapists.
Others simply know they’re fascinated by people and want to explore where this could take them.
You don’t need previous hypnotherapy experience.
You need curiosity, a willingness to practise and a genuine interest in helping people. We’ll teach you the rest.
More Than Classroom Weekends
Your training doesn’t stop when you leave Birmingham at the end of the weekend. You’ll also have access to our online learning platform where you can continue studying between modules.
Depending on your programme, your training and support includes:
Live classroom training
Practical face-to-face learning in Birmingham.
Practical exercises and supervised practice
Develop your skills by putting what you’ve learned into practice.
Online student learning portal
Continue studying between classroom weekends.
Training videos and supporting lessons
Revisit subjects and build your understanding.
Student workbook and course resources
Support your classroom learning and practical work.
Online student community
Connect with other students and share your learning.
Additional learning and support
Continue developing your skills between modules.
Ongoing mentorship
Receive continued support throughout your training.
This gives you time between training weekends to practise, reflect and let what you’ve learned actually sink in.
Start Building Real Confidence
It’s easy to watch someone demonstrate hypnosis and think:
It’s different when somebody sits down in front of you and says:

That’s where confidence actually gets built.
You’ll practise with other students throughout your training.
You’ll experience being the therapist.
You’ll experience being the client.
You’ll watch other people work.
You’ll make mistakes.
You’ll ask questions.
And you’ll gradually stop thinking about every individual step and start understanding what you’re actually doing.
That’s the point of classroom training.
Your Birmingham Training Team

Andy Griffiths
Your Birmingham classroom will also connect live with Andy Griffiths and the training team at our main Piece of Mind training centre in Glasgow.
Andy is a practising Clinical Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist and developed the Piece of Mind Method through his work with thousands of therapy clients.

Ian Young
You’ll train face to face in Birmingham with Ian, a practising Clinical Hypnotherapist and qualified trainer who works with clients using the Piece of Mind Method.
Ian brings his real-world therapeutic experience into the classroom, helping you understand not just the theory, but how these techniques are used with real people and real problems.
Throughout your classroom training, Ian will teach, demonstrate techniques, supervise your practice and support you as your confidence and skills develop.
This means your training isn’t limited to one classroom or one trainer.
You become part of the wider Piece of Mind training community.

Still Got Questions?
You probably should. Choosing a hypnotherapy training course is a big commitment and we don’t expect you to make that decision from a website page.
If you want to know more about the course, accreditation, how the Birmingham classroom works or whether the Foundation or Diploma is right for you, book a call.
Ask whatever you need to ask. Then you can decide whether we’re the right people to train with.

Start With the Foundation or Go Straight to the Diploma
You don’t have to know exactly where this journey will take you before you begin.
If you want to explore hypnotherapy without committing to nine months immediately, start with the Foundation Diploma.
If you already know you want to train professionally, enrol directly onto the Full Diploma.
Either way, the first four months follow the same training pathway.
